1.Sealing method: According to the load situation, it can be divided into static sealing and dynamic sealing. According to the purpose of sealing, it can be divided into rotary sealing, hole sealing, and shaft sealing. According to the device type, it can be divided into axial and radial devices.
2. Working medium and working conditions: It is necessary to consider the compatibility of the working medium, as well as the pressure, temperature, consecutive working time, operating cycle, and other factors at the sealing point. If the sealing element is used in a rotating situation, the temperature rise caused by frictional heat also needs to be considered.
3. Pre tightening amount: Generally, seals are installed in grooves. In order to ensure the sealing effect, an initial tightening amount should be reserved. However, it should be noted that the pre tightening amount varies depending on the usage environment.
4. Stretch and tighten: The values of stretch and tighten should be appropriate, not too large or too small. If the values of stretch and tighten are too large, it may cause the cross-section of the seal to excessively increase or decrease. Once stretched by 1%, the cross-sectional diameter will decrease by 0.5%.
5. Tight and persistent deformation: Under the influence of pressure, the sealing element will also undergo elastic deformation. To avoid persistent deformation, the tightening amount of the sealing ring should be controlled between 30% and 20%.
6. Hardness: Hardness determines the amount of compression and the extrusion gap of the groove, which is the main factor affecting sealing.
