The sealing ring is a key component for leak prevention in hydraulic systems. If the material and shape of the sealing ring are selected improperly, the sealing ring will be damaged or aged, and it will lose its sealing effect and leak. The following issues should be noted during use and storage:

① Rubber sealing rings should be stored away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture, and should not come into contact with substances such as acids and alkalis that can damage the rubber. The temperature of the storage room is between -15 ℃ and 35 ℃. The storage period should not exceed one and a half years.

② The sealing ring should be replaced regularly, and used sealing rings should not be reused.

③ The relationship between the material, shape, and performance of sealing rings.

④ The working temperature of the sealing ring should be within the allowable range of the sealing material.

Leakage control of static sealing

1. Fixed joint surface leakage control

1) Principle of fixed joint surface leakage control

① The force F applied to the two fixed surfaces of the sealed liquid under no pressure must be greater than the combined force of the minimum sealing pressure.

② When the sealed liquid is under pressure, ensuring the minimum sealing pressure is not only necessary to deform the seal and fill the surface defects of the fixed body, but also to resist liquid pressure and liquid extrusion from the contact surface. The minimum sealing pressure at this time should be proportional to the liquid pressure P. The force exerted by liquid pressure on the flange cover will cause the flange joint surface to separate, thereby reducing the actual sealing pressure. Therefore, the tightening force F applied to the two joint surfaces must not only counteract the force of liquid pressure, but also ensure the minimum sealing pressure.

In engineering applications, to avoid further elongation of bolts due to liquid pressure, sealing rings (pads) can be installed in sealing grooves or on surfaces with stops.

2) Leak prevention measures for fixed joint surfaces

There are two basic forms of fixed joint surfaces

① Flange joint surfaces, such as flange joints, orifice of plate type connecting components, etc.

② Illegal flange joint surfaces are commonly sealed with standard sealing rings, with O-ring seals being the most common. The characteristic of the joint surface of illegal orchids is that there are many rectangular openings and irregular openings. Sealing gaskets, special shaped sealing rings, and sealants are commonly used to prevent leakage.
